This man is regurgitating Econ 101, unfortunately to a room (world) of people with earplugs on. We are in an aggregate demand death spiral. The wealthiest economies are mature and aging. Young (would be) consumer economies are not wealthy enough or spoiled enough to take on the mass consumption needed to keep global demand healthy. There is a decade-long gap to their "maturity". Nouriel has the refreshing capacity to recount basic economic truths regardless of the current fashion.
